Our manufacturing process begins with a simple foot scan via app, which forms the basis for the individual adjustment of our shoe. Using our adjustment software and an innovative algorithm, we create a precise 3D reconstruction with 1000 data points, which enables an accuracy of 1 mm. The Helu One 2.0 not only adjusts in length and width, but also takes every area of the foot into account to ensure an optimal fit and avoid pressure points. Our shoes are then manufactured using a modern 3D printing process (FDM) that enables precise and tailor-made products. We only use recyclable materials that are light, stiff and/or flexible at the same time to ensure optimal performance.
Our manufacturing process also includes the knitting process for the inner shoes, which provides additional comfort and an improved fit. By combining 3D printing and knitting technology, we ensure that each shoe offers the highest performance and comfort, while ensuring sustainable manufacturing
On February 2, 2022, we founded "Gegenwind Sport GmbH" and later renamed it "hezo". The name "hezo" is made up of the first letters of Helen and her dog Zorbas and stands for harmonious coexistence in all areas of life. Our goal is to give every athlete access to sport and to treat each other with respect.
The idea for a custom cycling shoe came about during Helen's final thesis in product design in 2018. This led to the development of the Helu One, our first product, which was launched in December 2022. Thanks to the financial support of our investors at the time, we managed to develop the concept into a functional prototype. This was presented at trade fairs and competitions and received the ISPO Award, among others. The Helu One Edition, our first collection, symbolizes our path from idea to reality.
Since the end of 2023, we have been continuously working on improvements and new designs to offer a wider range of individual shoes that meet the needs of our customers. Our aim is to give every athlete the chance to practice their sport without restrictions, regardless of individual requirements of the foot anatomy.
Our commitment to innovation and individuality is reflected in every aspect of our products. Our goal is to expand our range little by little and develop even more performance sports shoes in order to be able to meet the needs of all athletes in the future.
